In hockey, India registered a crushing victory over Bangladesh in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup at Muscat in Oman last night. The Indian team secured this victory with a large margin of 13-1. For India, Mumtaz Khan spearheaded the effort with four impressive goals. Supported by hat-tricks from Kanika Siwach and Deepika, India showcased superior strategy and execution, continuously overwhelming the Bangladesh defence.

Manisha, Beauty Dungdung, and vice-captain Sakshi Rana also found the back of the net, contributing to the lopsided scoreline.

India will face Malaysia today in their next group game, aiming to defend their title and secure direct qualification for next year’s Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile. The match will begin at 8:30 PM IST.
