The Women's World Boxing Championships begin in Delhi today. This tenth edition of the tournament is set to be the biggest ever as more than 300 boxers from 72 countries will be taking part.

MC Mary Kom will be aiming for a historic sixth gold at the event, which is being hosted by India for the first time since 2006 when the country had topped the table with four

gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

35-year-old Mary Kom is currently tied with Katie Taylor on five gold medals and one more will make her the most successful woman boxer in history since the Irish pugilist has turned a Professional. In the last edition, India won just a silver through Sonia Lather in the 57 kg category.
