Zaheer Khan to be asked to quit Delhi Daredevils to take up India job

The Cricket Advisory Committee announced Ravi Shastri's name to succeed Anil Kumble as the head coach on Tuesday, while Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan were included in the Indian cricket team's coaching setup as the batting and bowling consultants respectively.

However, Zaheer Khan had captained the Delhi Daredevils in the last season of the Indian Premier League, while mentoring them as the bowling coach. The Committee of Administrators has no



problem with Zaheer Khan accepting the role of India's bowling consultant but only on the condition that he will no more be a part of the Indian Premier League as a coach or a player as it would lead to a clear case of conflict of interest.

Well placed sources in the BCCI have revealed that the CoA was surprised by CAC's decision of including Zaheer Khan in the coaching setup as he is currently a part of the IPL.
