Ras Al Khaimah: The Ras Al Khaimah civil defence fighters managed to safely evacuate up to 176 kids after a fire suddenly erupted at the Al Worood Kindergarten for Children at the Dahan area early on Monday morning.

After being alerted, the central operations room of the RAK Police, dispatched the civil defence teams, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in record time.

The firefighters managed to put out the fire, and contain the flames before it spread from the theater to other parts of the kindergarten, according to civil defence, according to Col. Ali Al Mahbubi, deputy director of the RAK Civil Defence.

"All the 176 little children, 20 teachers,



five cleaners and two watchmen were safely and quickly evacuated while investigations are on to identify the reason behind the fire."     

Water and foam were used to put out the fire, he added. "Smoke sucking machines were also used," he said, affirming that no casualties were reported. "The fire file was referred to the RAK police for further investigations."

The Ministry of Education affirmed that all students are safe after a fire broke out in Ras Al Khaimah. "The kindergarten students were evacuated from the premises to ensure the safety of all students and the staff. The fire has been professionally contained in a record time, while the kids have been evacuated safely."
