Bengaluru: A 55-year-old man lost his life after losing balance and falling off his bike due to bad roads. A video of the incident showed that the victim fell on the road, which has not been asphalted. In the video, it can be seen that the road is littered with gravel.

The incident occurred in Rajajinagar yesterday, and the deceased was identified as Mahesh. This is yet another case of a life being lost as a result of poor road conditions in Karnataka's IT city.

Mahesh was reportedly riding on a route in Rajajinagar when his vehicle slipped because the road had not been asphalted and was covered in loose gravel, leaving it in an uneven condition.

He was killed by a tractor that ran over him after he fell off his bike.

However, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said that the civic body was not responsible for the death of the motorist.

The police have opened an investigation based on the information contained in the complaint copy, and the complainant has not identified any civic authorities' carelessness. Further probe into the matter is underway.

Pothole activist Manoj Wadhwa said, "Every day more than 10 lives are lost due to potholes. Such incidents are avoidable if timely action is taken by authorities."
