Coimbatore Scientists Develop Nutrient-Rich Sugarcane Juice Powder

Scientists at the Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore have prepared sugarcane juice powder, which has made it possible to taste sugarcane juice in every season. The Sugarcane juice powder will be packaged and its validity will be six months from the date of manufacture. This juice powder will not only be natural but will also be available in lemon



flavor. Fresh sugarcane juice can be prepared by mixing it in 200 ml of water.

     

Dr. ML Chhabra said that chemical-free jaggery is being prepared from sugarcane juice at the Sugarcane Research Center in Karnal.

He said that the Sugarcane Research Center is continuously researching new varieties of sugarcane and such varieties are being prepared which are sweeter along with giving more production. These varieties will be released for farmers this year.
