Did your cab driver cancel the ride merely on the basis of the distance and mode of payment that you’ve chosen? He can be fined for it.
Here’s what you can do if a cab driver has cancelled after confirming your booking:
1. As soon as the booking is confirmed, take the screenshot of cab details including the number.
2. Share your end destination, if a cab driver calls and asks
you
3. If the cab driver cancels the ride or refuses to allow you to board upon learning your destination, share vehicle number, date and time, location, and a screenshot of rejection with your city Traffic police on Twitter or via WhatsApp. Send the screenshot too.
Refusal to ply by a contact carriage driver on hire is an offence and cancelling the ride attracts a penalty for cabs, according to section 178 of MV Act 1988.
