UP: These days everybody wants their wedding day to be memorable with good reasons, but not in this way.
Desi weddings involve a lot of people and it is quite possible for chaotic events to occur. However, a physical fight is usually less anticipated. Well, a very unexpected tussle took place at a wedding in UP's Deoria district.
It all began after an argument about whose side would take pictures first. Soon after the "varmala" ritual, the groom and the bride's side got into a heated argument that ended up in a nasty fight. The incident took place on December 8. The wedding procession travelled from Rampur Karkhana Dhus to Madhavpur village and everyone was excited about the wedding.
Unfortunately, the wedding function took an ugly turn as it was time for the photo session. The groom's side,
who were in a drunken state, demanded that they click pictures first. Seconds later, the demand blew up into an argument. The groom's uncle tried to intervene, but he was severely injured. Additionally, the groom's sister was also wounded in the altercation.
The Rampur Karkhana police arrived at the location to defuse the situation. Subsequently, the wounded people were moved to Sadar Hospital for treatment. "On Thursday night around 9.30 pm, there was information about a quarrel over taking photographs at the wedding. The injured had already left for the hospital by the time the police arrived at the scene with a team," said senior sub-inspector Balram Singh.
Meanwhile, the groom was so annoyed with the fight that he refused to tie the knot initially. Later the man decided to go ahead with the marriage.
