Mumbai: At least six people were arrested in connection with the putting up of a poster celebrating underworld don Chhota Rajan's birthday in Mumbai's Malad on Saturday. Reportedly, one of the arrested persons is an organiser of a kabaddi programme on the occasion.
According to reports, local police found the poster in the Malad area of Mumbai on late Friday night. The posters "welcomed the honoured dignitaries" to the Kabaddi event that
was organised for January 14 and 15.
Acting on leads, Mumbai Police booked six people for putting up the poster. A probe is underway in the matter.
Underworld don Rajan was deported to India after being arrested in 2015 from Bali in Indonesia. Since then, he has been lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi.
In 2018, Rajan was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of journalist J Dey in 2011.
