A professor who called a student a terrorist in class has been suspended. This incident took place on November 26 in the engineering department of MIT College of Mahe University (MAHE Manipal University) and the video has gone viral on social media. A professor has abused a Muslim student as a terrorist.
The student, who was angry with this statement, expressed his frustration that it is wrong to say this as a professor. Some people in the class videoed the argument between the student and the professor and shared it on social media. After the video went viral, the college board suspended the professor who abused the student and ordered an internal investigation.
Varta Bharti reported that professor Rabindranath compared the student Hanza to Ugra Kasab and insulted him during the class. It can be seen in the video that the student who objected to the professor’s statement is questioning him.
What’s in the viral video?
How can you call me that. The student questioned the professor saying that this is not a joke. He expressed his displeasure by asking him not to call unnecessarily. You are equal to my son. The professor said that I made this statement as a
joke.
Would you call your son a terrorist? Do you talk like this with your son? The student asked how can you call me that word in front of so many people.
Don’t forget that you are teaching as a professional. You can’t call me that. Student Hansha said that as a Muslim community, it is not normal to face such incidents every day. While the student was outraged, the alert professor apologized right there.
