Sivagangai: Three youngsters were arrested by the police in Karaikudi of Tamil Nadu's Sivagangai district after a video of the trio attempting a dangerous bike stunt went viral.

The video, which has become an internet sensation, showed a youth donning a yellow T-shirt attempting to stand up on the back seat of a speeding motorbike in full public view. However, the youngster falls buttocks first as he tries to enact the freedom pose on the moving bike. He lost balance while releasing his hands from his friend's shoulders.

The entire act was captured on camera by a friend who was following them on another two-wheeler. While the youth riding the bike was wearing a helmet, the pillion rider who attempted the stunt was wearing no visible protective gear. It is unknown if the youth suffered any injuries during the fall. The Karaikudi police booked three youngsters after the video surfaced online. They have been booked for performing risky stunts in public and causing danger to other people on the road. While two attempted the stunt, the third accused was the person behind the camera who recorded the "performance".

The three accused have been identified as Maheshwaran, Hari Prasad and Gopalakrishnan. The police made the trio give it in writing that they will never attempt such risky stunts again.

The police department also sent out a message to all bikers that similar actions in the future will invite strong action.
Videos of eccentric bike stunts and accidents while attempting to do so have become very common in Tamil Nadu recently, reports suggest.
