Visakhapatnam: A wedding ceremony in Pedabayalu mandal in Alluri district has garnered special attention. The groom, Pandana, married Lavanya at a ceremony co-hosted by his two existing wives, Parvathamma and Appalamma, on June 25.
Pandana’s first marriage to Parvathamma remained childless, leading him to marry Appalamma in 2002. The couple had a son in 2007. When Pandana expressed his desire for a larger family, the two wives encouraged him to go ahead. Lavanya agreed to be his third wife.
The existing wives actively participated in arranging the wedding. They even distributed
personalized invitations under their names – “Sageni Parvathamma and Sageni Appalamma” – signifying their welcome to Lavanya in the new family structure. The ceremony held at 10am on June 25 in Kinchuru village saw participation from both sides of the family – Lavanya’s relatives and Pandana’s extended family, including his existing wives and son.
News of this unconventional wedding has spread online, with many netizens expressing their surprise and amusement. Some have even playfully called Pandana a “very, very lucky fellow.”
