BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday severely criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said the Congress leader’s criticism of Kaleshwaram project exposed a complete lack of understanding about the project.
Rahul Gandhi and Telangana state Congress president A. Revanth Reddy tried to pass off expansion joints on the Medigadda barrage as evidence of the barrage being damaged and are trying to create a scare that it is about to collapse. Calling Rahul Gandhi ‘India’s Pappu’, and Revanth Reddy ‘Telagnana’s Pappu’, Rama Rao said the Congress leaders were talking like expert engineers without any idea what they were saying.
Kaleshwaram project, Rama Rao said, is a "blessing to the people of Telangana while the Congress is a curse on Telangana". Rahul Gandhi does not know the history of Telangana nor does he make any effort to learn about the state. It is time he changes his scriptwriter and stop reading what is handed to him by his party leaders, he said.
The BRS leader was also
unsparing of Revanth Reddy calling him a "blackmailer and corrupt leader caught red-handed in the vote for note case, and who is now selling party tickets for money. Revanth Reddy is more dangerous than Charles Shobraj and Dawood Ibrahim and the party’s name should not be Congress but ‘scamgress".
Rama Rao was addressing a meeting of party workers in Uppal and in support of BRS candidate from the constituency Bandari Lakshma Reddy.
Calling on party workers to support Laxma Reddy and ensure his win in the coming elections, Rama Rao said Uppal is a mini-India and Hyderabad has developed by leaps and bounds.
"Gone are the problems of power supply, lack of drinking water and the problems were solved under KCR’s leadership. Uppal has developed, we built skywalks and they (Centre) said it will build flyovers but has not managed to do so. People want more development and you should impress upon them why they should vote for BRS," Rama Rao told the BRS leaders and workers.
