The historic Moazzam Jahi Market (MJ Market) which is getting a facelift at an estimate of Rs.10 crore was inspected by municipal administration and urban development minister (MA&UD), KT Rama Rao on Monday.
The minster along with Arvind Kumar principal secretary, MA&UD and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials inspected the place. The minister inspected the damaged clocks, drainage pipelines, electric wires and
other existing civic amenities. The shops in the market including eateries, meat stores, vegetable stores were also inspected on Monday.
According to MUAD officials, the structure will be renovated by preserving its cultural value. To conserve the market a series of meetings are being held with architects and GHMC engineers. The officials also took advice form stalls owners located there.
