Hyderabad: The Budget session of the Telangana Legislature will begin on March 10 and the Budget will be presented on March 13.
Finance Minister Etela Rajender said the Budget session will be for 15 days. “The budget this time too will focus on welfare of people with better allocation of funds and will cover all sectors with equal priority and transparency,” he told mediapersons here.
The focus would be on inclusive growth and all-round development of the State, he said. He also stated that there would be no change in allocations for SC/ST sub-plans as the government was committed to spending every rupee for their cause and reach target people. The government has taken every care that funds allotted to these categories are spent prudently.
Rubbishing aside AICC leader Digvijaya Singh’s comments of green channel and red channel in the government, he said that there is only public channel. He also found
fault with the opposition remarks that the TRS failed to implement schemes and burdening the people by getting more loans than supposed to get. He said that the loans are essential for a new State like Telangana and obtain them as per the FRBM (Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management) norms.
“We will spend these funds through proper and need-based allocations made for the benefit of people,” the Minister said. This time, budget will have more allocations as the government positively expects to get more revenues from various sectors. Every State will get loans and try to make its optimal use for the welfare and Telangana is heading towards fast growth at national level, he said.
Besides welfare getting its due share, the budget will focus on priority sectors, flagship programmes, he said, adding that the government was spending Rs 40,000 crore for Mission Bhagiratha to offer potable water to rural areas in the State.
