In a freak mishap, 49-year-old Kummari Narsimhulu, a lorry driver died of brain stroke near AG college under Rajendranagar PS of Cyberabad commissionerate. The lorry which Narsimhulu was driving went out of control and rammed into a car parked on the roadside, injuring the car driver Kathula Ramesh.
According to police, Ramesh hailing from Kurnool started from Hyderabad with a load of cattle fodder to be delivered at Kurnool. After some time, he called up his wife Nagalaxmi and informed that he was not well and feeling discomfort. He also said that he might not be able to continue the trip.
Nagalaxmi advised him to stop the vehicle and take rest, but he told her that he had to deliver the load on time and continued the journey. Meanwhile, Ramesh dropped his employer
at the airport and was returning to his employer’s home in Banjara Hills.
He stopped the vehicle on the service road for a break. Narsimhulu while travelling on the service road, lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle veering off to the left.
Police suspect Narsimhulu could have jumped from the vehicle in an attempt to escape, but could have suffered a brain stroke, collapsed on the road and died.
Prima facie it looks like the lorry rammed into the car after Narsimhulu jumped off it. On a complaint from the car driver, police registered a case and launched investigation. Ramesh is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Narsimhulu is survived by wife and two sons.
