Around 100 arches depicting the culture of Telangana will be erected across the city for the World Telugu Conference. According to officials, the arches will be to commemorate the linguists, scholars and poets who worked for Telugu language literary for over 2,000 years. Each arch will have a Telugu literary scholar’s name and two lines about their work.
Each pillar of the arc will be inspired by a
temple in Telangana and will also depict sculptural dance forms. The dance forms are from Ramappa, Alampur, Kolanupaka, Kusumanchi Sivalayam, 1000 pillar temple, Panagallu and other temples across Telangana. A wall pillar on Bhagya Reddy Varma will also be erected, he was an Indian political leader, social reformer, activist, and businessman who fought against untouchability in the Hyderabad State.
