Drawing out a 100-day development plan, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Tarakarama Rao today assured the citizens of single-time permissions for buildings and new structures under GHMC and HMDA limits to avoid delay.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, KTR said steps were being taken to help people from roaming around the offices for months. Efforts were also being made to offer online services in 100 days and give details pertaining to buildings in 30 days,the minister said. Unlike in the past, now the State government was keen on helping people to get single-time permissions, he remarked.

Focusing on the GHMC development to meet global standards, KTR said Rs 200 crore would be spent for laying BT roads, Rs 30 crore for regularization and de-silting ‘nalas’, he said, adding  that committees ward-wise and area-wise would be formed for taking up civic works in a transparent and speedy manner involving people. Besides allocating Rs 100 crore in 100 days for women’s associations (SHGs), it was decided to



make a thorough revamp of GHMC and HMDA to provide all facilities to the citizens in a time-bound manner, he said.

The MA&UD Minister also said Rs 26 crore will be spent for construction of 40 model markets to cater to the needs of the people and Rs 20 crore was being earmarked for construction of compound walls for layouts at the selected places; Rs 3 crore for constructing 50 bus bays and Rs 1 crore for construction of burial grounds.

As part of Swatch Hyderabad, he said, 2,500 autos will be pressed into service to collect garbage of two types from every household. He also stated that online monitoring system will be in place through e-office. A plan is on cards to develop 359 sports stadiums in cooperation of youth clubs and associations for setting up gyms. The citizens can drop their suggestions on the GHMC portal to be coming up soon, he added. KTR also said a toll-free number in HMDA will be introduced soon to receive complaints and address them. It was also decided to give 32,000 new tap connections at an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore and distribute 3.5 crore saplings to people for greenery by May 31. KTR also said the 100-day plan of development will be reviewed on State Formation Day of June 2.
