12,898 candidates in fray for Civic polls

As per the final list of contesting candidates released by the SEC here on Thursday, 12,898 candidates are in the fray for the municipal elections, and of them, 3,749 candidates are

independents. Medchal-Malkajgiri district has the highest number of independents with 453 candidates followed by Ranga Reddy with 277 candidates.
