Hyderabad: In a special search operation by the Rachakonda and Cyberabad police, 13 foreign nationals were taken into custody on charges of illegal stay. They will be handed over to their respective embassies from where they will be deported to their countries.
The search operation came in the wake of the recent incidents of drug trafficking cases in the city, in which several foreign nationals were found to be involved.
Of the 13 foreigners,
11 were identified in Malkajgiri under Rachakonda and two in Rajendranagar of Cyberabad. Of the persons identified in Malkajgiri, three each are from Nigeria and Sudan, two from Tanzania and one each from South Africa, Congo and Uganda. The two persons found overstaying after their visas expired in Rajendranagar were from Uganda and Nigeria.
The operation was conducted in collaboration with Foreigner Regional Registration Offices (FRROs).
