The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has come forward to construct 15 Foot-Over-Bridges in different areas across the city.Five of the FOBs will be constructed at IDPL Bus-stop, Prashanth Nagar in Balanagar, Near Eat Street, Necklace Road, near Panama Godowns, Vanasthalipuram, Ushodaya Super Market, AS Rao Nagar and at IDA Uppal, near New Modern Bakery, Uppal.

HMDA is constructing these FOBs at a cost of about Rs 1.5 crore for each structure. Depending on the size and locations, the cost could go up further. Equipped with elevators



and steps, these FOBs will make things easy for pedestrians to cross the roads, officials said. “We have already invited tenders and the idea is to complete the construction within six months,” a senior HMDA official said, adding that the structures would be constructed under the Engineering Procurement and Construction mode, with HMDA bearing all the expenditure..

Regarding the rest of the FOBs, the official said construction of all the 10 structures would be completed by this year end in a phased manner.
