15 new bridges across Musi River: KTR

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said the Telangana Government has decided to construct 15 new bridges across River Musi in Hyderabad.

This was long overdue and will not only help millions of people in terms of saving time and ease of travel but will also ensure opening up of new areas for planned development, he said.

Telangana will be the only state in the country which will have Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants in all Urban Local Bodies, the Minister said, releasing the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department’s annual report for the year 2020-21 on Friday.

In his remarks in the



report, the Minister complimented MAUD as Telangana stands first in the country so far in implementation of PM SVANidhi programme under which Rs.347 crore worth loans were sanctioned to 347006 Street vendors.

During the year, Strategic Nala Development Programme was initiated to plan and execute proper drainage or surplus water flow in Hyderabad Urban Agglomeration, especially during rainy season, he said.

The State Government has successfully conducted elections in Urban Local bodies during the year and all the elected bodies, in accordance to the provisions of Telangana Municipalities Act 2019, are in place.
