Shukoor said out of 15,311 Haj applications, 13,474 were received in the
general category, 562 in the Reserved Category ‘A’ consisting of 70+ years and
1,275 applications were received in the Reserved Category ‘B’ (Fourth
Timer).
Hyderabad
tops the list with 12,413 Haj Applications, he said, adding that 2,969 pilgrims
from Telangana State had performed Haj last year.
Prof. S.A. Shukoor also said the Telangana State Haj Committee made arrangements for issue and acceptance of Haj Application Forms for Andhra Pradesh State also. As many as 2,668 Haj Applications were received from AP, which include 100 applications under Reserved Category ‘A’ and 46 applications under Category ‘B’, he said, adding that last year 2,404 pilgrims performed Haj from Andhra Pradesh.
