Karimnagar: According to police, around four to five kilograms of silver ornaments were stolen from the well-known Lord Hanuman temple in the Jagtial district of Telangana on Friday.
They claimed that three people, allegedly dressed in saffron, entered the temple through a gate in the back in the early hours of the morning and committed the theft.
They claimed that the ornaments were taken from a room prior to the sanctum
sanctorum.
Despite the fact that between 400 and 500 pilgrims were sleeping in the temple at the time of the theft, they did not suspect the saffron-clad thieves.
Eggadi Bhasker, the Jagtial Superintendent of Police, hoped that the perpetrators would be apprehended as soon as he observed that some clues had been obtained to identify them.
During his recent visit to the Kondagattu temple, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced plans to expand the complex. SJR SJR SS PTI CORR
