Finance Minister T Harish Rao said 16 more diagnostic centres will come up across Telangana State in addition to the 19 diagnostic centres which were operationalised in various districts on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating the Telangana Diagnostic Centre and RT-PCR Lab at the Government Hospital in Sangareddy, the Minister said patients visiting hospital usually land up spending Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 on regular tests. Since the government is offering 57 free diagnostic services at these centres, it will be of great help to the poor patients coming to the government hospital.
The government is spending Rs 2.5 crore on each of these Diagnostic Centre, he said
He further said the diagnostic services at the lab for post Covid-19 tests would save patients Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000. “Not only patients coming to Sangareddy hospital, samples collected at 25 Health Centres across the district will be brought to district
headquarters. Since they have divided these hospitals into four routes, the Minister said that they have allotted four vehicles to transport the samples. The results of the tests will be sent to Doctor and patient phone numbers in less than 24 hours.
Saying that they are also going to start the RT-PCR services, Rao said that the samples collected from across these 25 health centres will also be brought here for testing and the results will be sent to mobile phones within 24 hours.
Since the existing CT- Scan is not working, he said that they will soon buy one CT-Scan for Sangareddy district hospital shortly by spending Rs 2.5 crore.
Informing that they will soon open a Radiology department here, Rao said that they will be going to spend Rs 1.5 crore on the department.
