25 lakh sarees distributed on Bathukamma festival day

Nearly 25 lakh Bathukamma sarees were distributed in the state on the third day of the saree distribution programme. With this, about 80 lakh sarees were distributed so far.

Officials said distribution will continue on Thursday also and exuded confidence of covering all the 1.4 crore



women beneficiaries by Thursday night.

The state culture department is also organising Bathukamma plays, cultural events and other competitions in connection with ongoing Bathukamma festival, at Ravinda Bharathi and other places in the city and districts.
