278 licences cancelled for traffic violations

Hyderabad traffic police enforcing the Supreme Court guidelines to curb the traffic violations in the city, has till now suspended 278 licences of the drivers for major violations. 

In a media release issued here on Thursday, Hyderabad Traffic Additional Commissioner of Police informed that they have cancelled 217 licenses of people booked for drunk driving and 61 licenses of people for making other specific



violations. 

The police official said that they were also taking action against violations by auto drivers and cancelling their permits and registration of autos. 

He informed that they had registered 129 cases against such violations till now. A special drive is being conducted in coordination with the traffic police and RTA officials and would be continued as a routine matter, he added.
