A three-day `Vorugallu Kalavaibhavam' Culture and Arts festival began here on Friday that includes a carnival extending from the district Collectorate to the Kaloji junction in the city . The three day festival was inaugurated by deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari at the Arts & Science College Grounds of Hanamkonda.
The district administration, as part of the festival, has installed special lighting and illumination of all government offices, hotels, shopping malls and traffic junctions.The cultural events will include performances of Perini Shivatandam, folk arts including Oggu Dolla Vinyasam, Kolatam, Chirutala Bhajana and Chindu Yakshaganam.
These performances will be held at five
different venues in the city on specially erected daises at Arts and Science college, ZP Quarters, DEO office Junction, Kaloji Junction and Public Garden in Hanamkonda. The festival was kicked off in the evening with a peroformance by a group of 15 students from the Government Practising High School in Hanamkonda led by music teacher Vaddiraju Nivedita who presented a music concert at Kaloji Junction where several devotional songs were sung including Annamacharya Keertanalu.
Earlier in the morning, ministers Kadiyam Srihari, A Chandulal and tourism advisor Pervaram Ramulu jointly inaugurated a seminar as well as an art exhibition and dance competitions at Town Hall in the Public Garden at Hanamkonda.
