3 Tonnes of Red Sanders Seized at Medchal

The Medchal special operations team along with the forest department seized three tonnes of red sanders being smuggled from Eluru of Andhra Pradesh to Nagpur of Maharashtra, at Medchal on Friday.

The accused, identified as Gudipally Prathap, Hari Prakash and Satyabhan, were smuggling the logs by



concealed them in a load of coconuts, said officials.

Acting on a tip-off, police nabbed the trio, seized the logs and the vehicle used for its transportation. Police were verifying if the accused were involved in similar instances in the past.
