Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy said 40,000 double bedroom houses would be constructed by this year-end in Hyderabad city.
Making a presentation on the double bedroom housing project at the two-day “Transforming Urban Landscapes” workshop at Lucknow, Reddy said double bed room houses were being constructed in 109 areas in GHMC limits.
In his address, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said Telangana government was constructing 2 lakh doubled room houses and of these one lakh houses were being constructed in GHMC limits with a cost of Rs. 9,000 crores.
These constructions have been taken up for the convenience of the
poor and needy in 37 identified slum areas and covering an area of 5,60,00,000 square yards, they are also providing livelihood to many youngsters.
Without compromising on quality, the constructions were being taken up with advanced technology said the Mayor. He said at Ahmedguda, Rampally and other areas, 5,000 to 16,000 double bed room houses were being constructed with all facilities for the convenience of the poor and needy.
Rammohan said that in coordination with various departments these housing projects have been taken up and added the civic body had received Prime Minister’s Excellency Award for the Housing Scheme recently.
