The state government has decided to reserve five per cent seats in the proposed Ramagundam Medical College, which will be renamed Singareni Institute of Medical Sciences, for children of the employees of the Singareni collieries.

Health minister T Harish Rao on Thursday announced that of the 150 seats, 127 seats would be available for students from Telangana of which seven seats would be



reserved for meritorious children of SCCL employees.

Besides, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao also approved enhancing the bed strength by another 50 which would be utilised exclusively for the Singareni employees. "The Chief Minister’s decisions reflect the government’s commitment to the welfare of Singareni employees," said Harish Rao.
