7 Left-wing extremists killed in police encounter in Mulugu district, Telangana

In Telangana, at least seven Left-wing extremists were killed in an encounter with police in Mulugu district yesterday. The extremists include state committee secretary Bhadru alias Papanna belonging to Bijapur and two state committee members among others. The encounter occurred shortly after they killed two tribals, branding them



as police informers. 

According to police, during a search exercise Sunday morning, an anti-Naxal commando unit in Eturnagaram area came across the movement of extremists, which led to an exchange of fire. Police also recovered two AK-47 rifles.
