The police on Saturday night took 72 persons, including 32 who are from Bihar, during the cordon and search operation at Asif Nagar on the suspicion that they were involved property offences and automobile thefts. 
During the late night cordon and search operation, as many as 300 police personnel by West Zone DCP A Venkateshwara Rao carried out searches in over 2,000 houses for about three hours. The police detained 72 persons, including 32 from Bihar. The



police also seized 32 bikes from the possession of detainees as the vehicles did not have valid documents. 
The detainees were taken to Asif Nagar police station for questioning. Verification of vehicles would also made to find out whether they were stolen bikes. Speaking to media, DCP Venkateshwara Rao said the area in which the operation was conducted was hyper sensitive and it was found that some suspects had been taking shelter in this area.
