748 nominations filed for ZPTC, MPTC posts on Day 1 in Telangana

A total of 748 candidates filed their nominations on the first day for ZPTC and MPTC posts. While 92 candidates filed nominations for 197 ZPTC seats, 656 candidates filed nominations for 2,166 MPTC seats.

The last day for filing nominations is April 24, and they will be scrutinised on April 25. The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is April 28 following which the final list of



candidates in the first phase will be announced. The first phase polling will be held on May 6.

In all, 296 TRS candidates filed their nominations followed by 212 Congress candidates and 113 independent candidates for the MPTC elections. Around 38 Congress candidates, 31 TRS candidates and 14 independents filed nominations for ZPTC elections.
