92 containment zones in GHMC area

Health officials on Tuesday said there were 92 containment areas across various zones and circles in areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. They said there were six major zones including L B Nagar, Charminar, Khairatabad, Secunderabad, Serlingampally and Kukatpally where these containment areas were located at present.

Senior district surveillance officials, however, pointed out that containment areas in these zones would remain dynamic and change according to the new positive cases that get



reported.

Accordingly, in Charminar zone, there were 31 containment areas while in Secunderabad zone, there were 23 containment areas as on Monday night. The L B Nagar zone had five containment areas, Khairatabad 14 while there were 10 in Serilingampally. The Kukatpally zone had nine containment areas.

Health officials on Tuesday also released details of all containment zones in the 33 districts. There were around 950 to 1,000 containment zones in the 33 districts.
