Gurugram: Gurugram police arrested a wanted criminal from Hyderabad with Rs 25,000 on his head.
Police said on Thursday that Rachit Sharma, 31, and his four accomplices had robbed a man in Gurugram of Rs 10 lakh in November 2021 and had since been on the run.
The associates of Rachit have already been detained.
On February 20, Rachit was captured by a team from the crime branch of the
Gurugram police department. Rachit spent two days in transit remand at Gurugram.
The accused admitted that he and others had robbed the complainant of Rs 10 lakh in cash, a laptop, and other documents.
"Out of Rs 10 lakh, Rachit accepted Rs 3 lakh as his portion and escaped to Hyderabad to dodge capture and was working there throughout the previous two years at a handyman store," Preet Buddy Sangwan, ACP (wrongdoing) said.
