Nizamabad District Medical and Health Department launched ‘Aalana’ programme to cure non-communicable diseases. District Collector C Narayana Reddy flagged the vehicle on Thursday.

Under the ‘Aalana’ programme, the doctors provide treatment to the non-communicable diseases by reaching their doorstep in a vehicle to the patients house, whose age is above 60 years. The team will have a doctor, ANM and staff nurse. The Aalana team will visit four primary health centers and provide treatment to old-age



people.

In the pilot project, this programme was launched at Dharpally PHC. The team provided treatment to surrounding PHC’s like Bheemgal, Sirikonda, Jakranpally and Indalwai PHC’s. Heart diseases, cancer, TB, BP, diabetes, paralysis and other non-communicable diseases will be treated under the Aalana programme.

Nizamabad DMHO Dr Sudershanam, programme officer Dr Bramheshwar, Dharpally health officer B Gangadhar, Dr Shambhu attended the programme.
