Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare issued orders to accept income certificates for less than Rs. 2 lakh at the time of admissions to various courses in Engineering.

Complaints were made by the students and parents that at the time of counseling for the production of income certificates for less than Re. 1 lakh.Mr. Omer Jaleel clarified that income certificates for less than



Rs. 2 lakh should be compulsorily accepted. He said that letters would be addressed to concerned conveners.

As per G.O. 64 dated 30th April 2015, the maximum income limit for rural areas was fixed at Rs. 1.5 lakh and for urban areas it was fixed at Rs. 2 lakh but the officials was insisting the candidates to produce income certificates for less than Re. 1 lakh.
