Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan said a blood donation camp organised by the police department received an overwhelming response, with many people participating.

He inaugurated the camp, held to mark the ongoing Police Martyrs Day here on Wednesday.

Mahajan said people and youngsters voluntarily

donated 817 units of blood during the camp. He thanked those who came forward to give their blood for the cause.

He added that the blood would be used free of cost for victims of road accidents and medical emergencies.

The blood would be supplied to RIMS-Adilabad and a private blood bank in the town.
