The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao, who paid an 'unscheduled' and 'personal' visit to the national Capital is a happy man today. The Government of India has agreed to give defense lands for the construction of new the State Secretariat of Telangana.
KCR, was awaiting a response from the defense ministry, which governs the prime Hyderabad land where the CM wants to build his dream secretariat.
Making the celebration double joyful, the centre has also given an affirmative on the request of Telangana government for the reduction of GST on the Public Utility projects from 12 percent to 5 percent.
KCR, recently threatened the Union government of launching a legal battle against the 12 percent GST on ongoing public utility projects like
like Mission Bhagiratha, several irrigation projects, and road works.
A statement released by Telangana Chief Minister's office said, "The Union Finance and Defence Minister, Arun Jaitley, has informed the CM that the Centre is ready to handover the Bison Polo Grounds land for the construction of new State secretariat, as well as lands required for the expansion of Medchal and Rajiv Rahadari roads".
"The decision on the request for the reduction of GST on Public Utility projects will be taken after discussing the matter in the GST Council meeting to be held in Hyderabad on September 9", the statement added.
