Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) Hospitals, Hitec City on Friday launched Barry Marshall Centre for H Pylori Research, billed as the first centre focused on the study and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infections.
Named after Nobel
laureate Barry Marshall, who earned the prize for medicine in 2005 for discovering the role of H pylori in causing peptic ulcers, the research facility will be invovled in developing a healthcare model that not only treats but prevents H. Pylori infections and eradication.
