Airbus India, the Indian arm of EUR 70 billion European aerospace company Airbus, is planning to expand its presence in Hyderabad working with Telangana government and industry partners.
The company currently works closely with Tata Group entity Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) to make certain aerospace components from Hyderabad.
Anand Stanley, president and MD, Airbus India and South Asia said, “We are also working with our partner Infosys with regards to technology and design. We have a team of 150 people here working on technology. We are in talks with Telangana government to explore opportunities to innovate in India working with startups, work in the skills area, and work on design
areas.”
“We are seeing opportunities in the areas of urban mobility such as helicopters, urban taxies and heli-ambulances. Airbus being the largest defence company in Europe, largest helipcopter and civil aviation company in the world, believes there will be scope for opportunities with Hyderabad and India to work more on the defence helicopters. We certainly see there is scope for Design in India, innovate in India and Make in India while operating within the Hyderabad and Telangana region.”
Airbus which has Biz Lab initiative is aiming to mentor startups from across the globe. The company actively looks to work with startups that operate from Hyderabad as well, Stanley informed.
