Municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said that an airport will soon be constructed in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district to provide air connectivity to the famous temple town of Bhadrachalam.
KTR was addressing a meeting after opening a skill development centre in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. He said the government would take up the proposed steel plant at Bayyaram with the help of Singareni Collieries. He criticised the Centre for sitting on the Bayyaram steel plant
proposal.
Rama Rao said Visakhapatnam, which does not have iron ore mines of its own, has a steel plant. Bayyaram has iron ore mines and it is an ideal place for the steel plant, he said, adding that if the Centre did not come forward, the state will take up the steel plant project on its own.
He also said irrigation facilities would be provided to all areas in Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts by utilising the water from river Godavari.
