Advisor to the government on minorities welfare AK Khan on Monday asked 60 newly-appointed Urdu officers to work towards promotion and development of Urdu language across the state.
“You have a great responsibility for promotion and development of Urdu language in the state. So you must work hard with devotion and dedication wherever you are posted,” said AK Khan.
Speaking at the inauguration of a one-week training programme for the new officers at Dr Marri Channa Reddy Institute, he emphasised the need to improve expertise and said the officers would have to lead the community and guide them.
“The government is determined for the overall development of the Urdu language. The Telangana Public Service Commission recently announced
conducting an examination in the Urdu language also,'' said AK Khan. The director of Minorities Welfare, Shahnawaz Qasim said language experts would be in great demand in days to come and learning of different languages would win hearts. He advised the newly-selected Urdu officers to function responsibly.
Director secretary, Telangana State Urdu Academy Prof SA Shukoor, said that the appointment of the officers was a big step on the part of the government towards development of Urdu language in the state. After a week’s training the officers would be taken around 13 different departments of Minorities Welfare, he said, and added that the officers have been appointed in the offices of ministers and district collectors besides CS and DGP office.
