MIM MLAs, including Akbaruddin Owaisi, Ahmed Balala and Ahmed Paasha Quadri yesterday met Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar at the Secretariat and discussed issues pertaining to Laad Bazaar improvement and Pedestrian Bridge.
After a patient hearing, Arvind Kumar instructed the officials concerned to expedite the works relating to the Laad Bazaar façade improvement.
He asked them to organize a tour to Amritsar for the stakeholders so that they can have a first hand knowledge of the improvements taken up there. He also directed the officials to provide accessibility
for free flow of tourists as it was getting affected due to the ongoing works around Charminar.
Arvind Kumar said the iconic pedestrian bridge was being built to accommodate some 1,000 hawkers, who have been relocated from the Charminar area as part of the Charminar Pedestrian Project. He also asked the officials to take up construction of a new bridge between Nayapul and Purana pul to accommodate fruit vendors.
GHMC Additional Commissioner Musharraf, HRDCL Chief Engineer Mohan Naik, Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran and others were present at the meeting.
