Akbaruddin Owaisi urges Harish Rao to resolve minorities issues

MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi urged the Finance Minister T Harish Rao to act immediatley on issues pertaining to minorities. Seeking clarifications during discussion on budget, he said the promises made to extend benefits of SC, ST students to minority students also. 

The Minister assured to look into the issue. When Owaisi said that the Shaadi Mubarak was not included in green channel and Rs.300 crore allocated for the scheme would be insufficient to meet the increasing list of applicants, the Minister



clarified that the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak was a single scheme and assured that more funds would be allocated to clear all the applications.

To another question on confusion over Aarogyasri Health Scheme and the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Harish Rao said, “We are implementing the scheme jointly”. To another request made by the government Whip Balka Suman on irrigation projects, the Minister promised to take necessary steps to complete them at the earliest.
