TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Saturday said no one was above law and claimed that the police had arrested Tollywood actor Allu Arjun as per rules.
The Congress government does not hold any grudge against Allu Arjun. A case was filed against the actor in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede at a theatre and the police had initiated action accordingly, the TPCC president said while speaking to media persons here on Saturday.
“Congress harbours no animosity towards any actor. One should bear in mind it was the Congress government that played a key role in
shifting the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad,” Goud claimed, also claiming that officials had noticed a few financial irregularities in the conduct of the Formula E-race event in the past.
If BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s involvement was proven in any irregularities, then law would take its own course of action, he said.
Meanwhile, Khairathabad MLA Danam Nagender said the arrest of Allu Arjun was a painful incident and called it unfortunate. “It was good that High Court had granted bail to Allu Arjun, who is a national award winner,” the MLA said.
