Municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao said that the two bedroom housing scheme will continue till all the poor people in the state got houses.According to him, the construction of 2.65 lakh housing units has been taken up at a cost of `18,000 crore in the state. Out of the total, one lakh housing units would be constructed at a cost of `8,500 crore in the city.
Addressing a public meeting after laying the foundation stone for 2BHK houses at Rampally in Medchal district on Thursday , KTR said the 2BHK scheme launched by the TRS government was different from the one implemented by the previous Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh, in terms of quality and
facilities. The minister said 10% quota in allotment of 2BHK houses would be given to local people. He asked people not to pay bribes for allotment of houses and assured the gathering that all those eligible would get houses.
He said the state government was taking all measures to make Hyderabad a clean and green city and also slum-free city . “The state government will spend `20,000 crore for creating infrastructure in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and `4,000 crore has already been sanctioned for various works such as skyways.“
Transport minister P Mahender Reddy and mayor Bonthu Rammohan were also present.
