The Andhra Pradesh government seemingly wants to hold on to its common capital of Hyderabad with Telangana in the form of land.
According to reports, the TDP government in Andhra said that if the Telangana government cannot pay the 52 per cent of share that is due to AP as part of the AP Reorganization Act in cash, it wants land in Hyderabad as compensation.
Andhra is scheduled to have a meeting with Telangana and the government of India in Delhi on September 20.
As per the homework done by AP, the total land value of all the institutions listed under
Schedule X has been pegged at Rs 16,070 crore, the value of land and buildings at Rs 17,001 crore, value of movable assets at Rs 218 crore, value of machinery and equipment at Rs 335 crore, fixed deposits of Rs 2,970 crore and liquid cash in banks amounts to Rs 1,663 crore.The total amount to be divided between the two states comes to Rs 38, 260 crore.
Quoting sources, the report adds that Naidu will use this division as a leverage to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh in Hyderabad.
AP Official told that we know that the Telangana government does not have the funds to pay us. That being the situation, they should compensate us with land equivalent to the value in Hyderabad.
