'Apna Shehar' or 'Mana Nagaram' town hall meets from next week

Municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao announced through his Twitter account on Monday that town hall meetings would be organized in the name of ‘Mana Nagaram’ or ‘Apna Shehar’.

“The agenda in the town hall meetings has not been decided. But the tentative agenda is to hear common problems of the localities and try to solve them then and there by issuing instructions to the officials concerned. Secondly, it has been decided to seek the help of RWAs and NGOs to



create civic sense among the people on maintenance sanitation like dumping debris and garbage and illegal digging of roads etc,” an additional commissioner of GHMC said. 

Though the municipal minister asked GHMC to hold meetings in all 31 municipal circles, officials say they would first hold meetings either in five municipal zones or assembly constituency wise. Sources said the number of representatives would be restricted to 300 members in each.
